Right now we're all focused on staying healthy, and your immune system plays a large role in that. We should be focused on keeping our immune system healthy year round, not just when there's a pandemic spreading across the globe.
So get out your grocery list and write down these immunity boosting foods. Or just take a screenshot because ya know... technology!
1. Citrus Fruits
These include grapefruits and oranges for snacking on. I personally sprinkle a pinch of sugar on my grapefruit halves but they still taste great without it!
For drinks you can add lemons and limes for drinking to your beverage of choice. A few lemon wedges in your water, or a lime slice popped into your favorite lager.
2. Red Bell Peppers
These contain roughly twice the amount of vitamin C as citrus fruits and are high in beta carotene. Use them to spice up any dish, or cut ‘em and eat ‘em raw. You can dip them in ranch as well, just make sure you're not getting more ranch than pepper with each bite!
Do you wanna be big and strong like Popeye? Spinach is full of antioxidants, vitamin C, and beta carotene. Try to keep it raw though, as it loses a lot of its punch when cooked. If you absolutely can’t stand the taste of ranch spinach, toss a handful into your protein shake, blend, enjoy!
One of the best veggies around for you. This one is packed with vitamins A, C, and E and loaded with antioxidants. Like it’s green brother spinach, try to cook it as little as possible.
5. Garlic and Ginger
I'm no home chef, but even I know it's easy to incorporate these into almost any dish you're whipping up. You can add these into almost everything! Just make sure you brush your teeth after the garlic because no one wants to smell your lunch.
Adding some more of these ingredients into your daily life is a great way to boost your immunity and keep you healthier!
